Phil Puathasnanon

Phil Puathasnanon joined the UW staff in 2018 as the technical director, managing statistics collection during practice and matches, and coordinating practice and scouting video. A native of Granada Hills, Calif., he has over ten years of coaching experience at the high school, club, and college levels.
Puathasnanon lettered four years in high school and then played one year of collegiate volleyball at Moorpark College in 2006. He spent eight years as an assistant coach at Granada Hills Charter for the boys volleyball team, helping the squad win five sectional championships.
From 2009-14 he served as an assistant women’s coach at the College of the Canyons, while also coaching club for four seasons at the Los Angeles Volleyball Academy from 2012-15, and then coaching in 2017-18 at the Rise Volleyball Club and Sports Academy Volleyball Club.
Puathasnanon earned his Bachelor’s degree in History from CSUN and completed a Master’s in Communication Studies from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
