Markley, Heard Named Academic All-District

SEATTLE -- Husky seniors Zoria Heard and Alexa Markley were both named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team this week. Selection for the pretigious award requires a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and 90-percent of sets played for the season.
Heard, the starting libero who finished second in the Big Ten in digs per set, and earned All-Big Ten Second Team honors, owns a 3.56 cumulative GPA majoring in Communications. The Rowlett, Texas native closed out her collegiate career with over 1,100 digs.
Markley spent one season with the Dawgs and ranked second on the team in total kills with 330, and her 77 total blocks was also second on the squad. She has a 4.00 GPA in her postbaccalaureate studies at UW after earning a 3.97 GPA while earning her undergraduate degree at Penn State. Markley was the NCAA Elite 90 Award winner in 2024 for the highest GPA at the final site of the NCAA tournament.
