Lauren Wilson enters her third season on the Washington women's basketball coaching staff in 2026–27 and her sixth overall year with the Huskies, continuing a journey that has helped shape the program as both an accomplished student-athlete and rising coach.
Few people understand Washington's recent ascent quite like Wilson. After starring on the court for the Huskies, she seamlessly transitioned into the coaching ranks, where she has played an integral role in the program's return to national prominence. In her first two seasons on staff, Washington earned back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances, highlighted by the program's first NCAA berth since 2017 during the 2024–25 campaign.
Wilson's impact extends across scouting, player development, recruiting operations, and academics. During the 2025–26 season, her scouting preparation helped fuel one of the Big Ten's top defensive units, as Washington held eight of the 17 NCAA Tournament teams it faced to their lowest or second-lowest point total in regulation. The Huskies also posted the highest NET ranking in program history (No. 22) while recording their most overall wins (22), conference victories (10), road wins (7) and home wins (13) since the 2016–17 season.
In Washington's inaugural Big Ten campaign the year before, Wilson helped guide a smooth conference transition as the Huskies led the league in conference-only field goal percentage (49.5%), three-point percentage (40.1%) and free throw percentage (83.6%).
Wilson's connection to head coach Tina Langley dates back well before Seattle. She spent her first two collegiate seasons playing for Langley at Rice, where she helped lead the Owls to the program's first WNIT championship and earned All-Tournament honors in both the WNIT and Conference USA tournaments.
After transferring to Washington, Wilson became one of the defining players of the Huskies' resurgence. A two-time All-Pac-12 selection, she helped lead UW to the 2023 WNIT Fab Four and a 2024 WBIT appearance.
Wilson also helps oversee the program's academics. During the 2025–26 academic year, Washington posted a 3.46 cumulative team GPA, with more than half the roster earning Dean's List recognition.
Wilson earned her bachelor's degree in public health–global health and a master's degree in entrepreneurship from Washington's Foster School of Business. A native of Union, Kentucky, she is married to fellow Washington assistant coach Drew Wilson.
