Graduate transfer returns home to his native Seattle after completing his undergraduate degree at Yale in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology … pursuing a Masters in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership at Washington … ranks Top-10 in Yale school history in the mile, 1000-meters, and 1500-meters.
2023 (Track): Focused on the mid-distances, and reached the Pac-12 Championships final in the 1,500-meters … entered in four events at Pac-12s to help the collective effort as UW won its first team title … made the 1,500m final at Pac-12s by taking fifth in his prelim heat in 3:48.73 … was 12th in the Pac-12 1,500m final, 20th in the 800m final, 28th in the 5,000m final, and even ran on the 4x100m relay which was 10th … indoors, competed unattached, posting a best mile time of 4:06.17 at the UW Invitational … ran a 3,000-meters in 8:12.51 at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Opener on Dec. 3.

2019-20 (Track At Yale): Placed third at the Ivy League Indoor Championships in the 1,000-meters and was third on the DMR in the final meet before the coronavirus canceled the rest of the season … ran a 1k PR of 2:24.36 in the H-Y-P meet … 800m best of 1:53.54 on Jan. 18 … (Cross Country At Yale): Placed 52nd at the Ivy League Championships … raced at the Pre-Nationals meet, placing 184th overall.

High School and Personal: Born in Seattle … parents are Denise and Robert Laird … has two younger brothers … a Communication and Consent Educator (CCE) at Yale … worked at the Strittmatter Lab at the Yale Medical School … placed 12th at the 3A State XC Champs ... third in the 2017 Washington 3A State Championships 800m final in 1:55.50 and was fifth in the 1600m final in 4:19.57 … the 2017 Metro League Champion at 800m and 1600m … also was top-10 at state in the 800m and 1600m as a junior in 2016 … played club soccer for 10 years, went to two state finals and was a regional and national champion ... volunteered with the Special Olympics: Project Unified club all four years of high school.
