2023:Β Finished four-for-four in First Team All-America honors in his career in the discus, as he placed eighth at NCAA Outdoors with a throw of 200-5 in Austin, which was his best mark ever at nationals ... went over 200-feet in the discus for the first time in his career, first breaking the mark at the Triton Invitational with a toss of 201-7 β¦ extended his PR again at the Pac-12 Championships, throwing 202-8 to finish third and move up to No. 4 in school history β¦ qualified through to the NCAA Outdoor final site for the fourth time in four appearances, placing fifth at West Prelims with a throw of 199-4 β¦ third at the Desert Heat Classic with a throw of 196-10 ... a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team member.
2022: Earned a third consecutive First Team All-America honor in the discus, placing seventh at the NCAA Outdoor Championships to help the Huskies finish 12th as a team β¦ had his best mark of the year at NCAAs, throwing 195-6 to return to the podium β¦ took fourth at the Pac-12 Championships, throwing 184-10, in one of the deepest fields in history, as the Pac-12 had five of the top-10 finishers at NCAAs β¦ advanced through NCAA West Prelims for a third time, going 189-11 to finish fourth β¦ won the Fresno State Invitational with a mark of 194-2 β¦ threw 192-5 to win the UW-WSU Dual β¦ opened season going 186-1 at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate β¦ did not compete indoors.
2021: Repeated as the Pac-12 Discus Champion and returned to the podium at the NCAA Outdoor Championships β¦ became first Husky to win consecutive Pac-12 discus titles when he threw 189-2 to win the title at USC β¦ at the NCAA Outdoor had a toss of 189-4 on his third round throw to move from 10th to 6th where he would finish to earn First Team All-America honors for the second time β¦ competed at his first U.S. Olympic Trials and placed 13th overall with a throw of 194-0 ... easily advanced through NCAA Prelims with a second-place finish on a throw of 196-10 β¦ set a PR with a throw of 199-0 to win the West Coast Relays β¦ threw 193-10 to take second at the Jim Click Shootout β¦ opened his season going 191-2 to win the Jim Bush Legends Invite at ULCA.
2020 (Indoor Track; Outdoor Season Canceled): Big gains in the weight throw as he put on nearly six feet to his personal-best and climbed up the UW career top-10 list up to the No. 4 spot β¦ PRβd at three meets in a row, starting with a winning mark of 62-3 1/4 at the UW Invitational, followed by a third-place finish at the Don Kirby Invite in New Mexico at 64-3, and then winning the UW Last Chance Meet with a PR of 65-2 1/4.
2019: A tremendous first collegiate season throwing the discus as he won the Pac-12 title, the first Husky to win the Pac-12 discus since 1976, and followed that up with a seventh-place finish at NCAAs to earn First Team All-America honors β¦ threw his discus season-best of 199-0 at the Beach Invitational to go to No. 7 in school history β¦ at his first NCAA Championships in Austin, opened with a throw of 191-3 and that would hold up for seventh to earn a podium finish, the highest by a Husky in that event since Ben Lindsey was fifth in 1998 β¦ won his first Pac-12 title in dramatic fashion in Tucson, as he was second going into his final attempt but improved to 189-7 on his sixth throw to grab the victory β¦ advanced through NCAA Prelims in fifth-place with a toss of 188-5 β¦ won the discus at the National Relays in Arkansas with a toss of 184-10 β¦ threw 184-4 in his first collegiate discus competition at the Stanford Invite, taking second β¦ won the UW-WSU Dual discus at 172-3 β¦ indoors, focused on the weight throw, and improved steadily with a best of 59-9 1/2 to win the Last Chance College Elite Meet β¦ that mark moved him to No. 10 in school history β¦ threw 59-9 at the MPSF Championships for 11th β¦ had a shot put PR of 55-2 in his only shot put competition at the Husky Classic.
2018: Redshirted the season to preserve a year of eligibility, but qualified for the IAAF World Junior Championships as part of Team USA β¦ made the World Juniors team in the discus by taking second at the U.S. Junior Championships with a throw of 199-5 using the junior implement β¦ at the World Junior Championships in Finland in July, he made the final and placed eighth overall with aΒ mark of 190-2 as the top American ... competed once unattached with the senior implement, winning the Ralph Vernacchia Invite with a throw of 184-1 that would have been one of the top marks in the Pac-12.
High School and Personal: Born in Puyallup, Washington β¦ mother is Mary Mason β¦ has two older brothers, Rashad Huggins and Samuel Mason who both played football β¦ an All-American and one of the top-ranked discus throwers in the nation during his junior and senior seasons β¦ finished 2017 ranked fourth in the country in the discus after setting his PR of 212-11 at the Arcadia Invitational β¦ won his third consecutive Arizona Div. I state title as a senior with a mark of 203-9, after winning as a junior at 182-1 and as a sophomore at 172-2 β¦ also won the state shot put title as a senior at 61-2 and ranked 29th nationally in the shot put with a mark of 63-1 Β½ β¦ as a junior, won the 2016 Arcadia Invite discus title with a throw of 192-3 β¦ second at the Nike Chandler Rotary in 2017 with a discus throw of 201-6 β¦ another big win at the 2017 Simplot Games, winning the shot put at 63-2 β¦ also lettered two years in football.
