WASHINGTON
2017:Β Made five appearances as a freshman, all out of the bullpen ... allowed 3 runs (all in the same game) in 3.1 innings ... came in and got Quinn Brodey of Stanford to fly out,Β May 20 ... faced one batter Apr 10 at LMU, issuing a walk ... pitched twice at St. Maryβs, including a perfect 9th in 11-1 win, Feb. 24, in his college debut.

Named to the 2016 California Region Honorable Mention β¦ in 2016 was named to All-NHSI Team Honorable mention β¦ allowed 7 hits, had 10 strikeouts, and a 1.00 ERA ... in 2015 had a 1.83 ERA, with 41 strikeouts in 51 and 1/3 innings pitched ... teammates included fellow UW catcher Nick Kahle and Blake Rutherford, who was selected in the first round of the 2016 MLB Draft Β β¦ also played quarterback for the football team and was team captain as a senior.
First memory of baseball:Β
My first baseball memory is my dad pitching tennis balls to me in the backyard and I just tried to hit the ball over the green fence at the top of our hill. Another memory I have is going to Dodger's game when I was really young and watching Sean Green and Paul La Duca.Β
Why do you love baseball?
I love baseball because it is a game that constantly tests the mind and resilience. Baseball has taught me some of my best life lessons and I am obsessed with getting better at it every day.Β
Favorite baseball player:Β
Clayton Kershaw because to me he is the closest to masering the left-handed mechanics of pitching. He has found a way to continue to repeat his mechanics and make hitters look silly year after year.Β
Hobbies/Other sports you enjoy:
I love to play football and I enjoy cooking and playing golf. I also love going to the beach.Β
I chose Washington because:Β
I chose the University of Washington because of the facilities and all the amenities are wonderful. But the main rain reason I chose UW was because the coaches and team care for each other.Β
