WASHINGTON
2018: Struck out in his only appearance on March 11 as a pinch hitter vs. Illinois State.
SACRAMENTO STATE/ CASA GRANDE HIGH SCHOOL
Transferred to Washington from Sacramento State, where he spent two years on the Hornets' football team as a defensive lineman ... was team MVP of both football and baseball as a senior at Casa Grande High School ... First Team All-North Bay as a catcher ... named first team all-North Bay League and second team all-North Coast Section as a senior football player, recording 117 total tackles, including 24 for loss to set the Casa Grande record.
PERSONAL
Parents are Scott and Tricia ... wants to major in biology and either become a personal trainer or strength and conditioning coach ... father was a pitcher at UC Santa Barbara and was a 22nd-round draft pick by the St. Louis Cardinals in 1991.
GETTING TO KNOW CASEY LONGAKER
First Memory of playiing baseball:
Being 8 years old and throwing a no-hitter in little league.
My greatest baseball memory:
Playing a high school game versus Joe DeMers and Willie MacIver (College Park HS) and winning after our catcher hit a walk-off home run.
Why do you love baseball?
It gave me the opportunity to be a Husky and be the best person possible.
