SEATTLE – The long track and field season enters into the final and most crucial stretch this week, as the Big Ten Outdoor Championships start the three-meet championship stretch that leads to the end of the 2026 campaign. Washington is on its way from Seattle to Lincoln, Nebraska for its second appearance at Big Ten Outdoors, with the meet running this Friday through Sunday, May 15-17.
The conference meet will lead into the NCAA West Preliminary meet in Arkansas at the end of May, and the advancers from Prelims will head to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore. from June 10-13.
The Huskies have 26 women and 23 men heading to Lincoln to compete at the Nebraska Outdoor Track. The first two days of competition will be streamed live on Big Ten Plus as well as Runnerspace. Day three will also be streamed online, plus a live broadcast on Big Ten Network which will begin at 10:30 a.m. Pacific time.
One year ago, the Huskies finished sixth in both the men's and women's outdoor B1G Championships in their conference debut. UW won a trio of titles last year, with Evan Jenkins getting the first in the men's 10,000-meters, followed by Amanda Moll winning the women's pole vault, and Sophie O'Sullivan winning the women's 1,500-meters.
Many Huskies head into the Championships ranked in the top-10 in the conference in the descending order lists, including top-ranked Alex Rhodes and Jimmy Rhoads, and Hana Moll. Sofia Cosculluela is also No. 1 in the heptathlon but expected to compete in open events instead.
