PHOENIX, Ariz. – Washington made a move up the leaderboard today at the PING ASU Invitational, finishing in seventh place among 16 teams after a round total of 290.

Amber Li follows on the leaderboard, tied for 27th overall after a score of 73 on the round. Athena Ni tallied an even score of 72 on the day and sits at six-over par after her five-over round yesterday. Mads Smith and Wendy Tang each posted three-over rounds to join Ni at six-over par. All three players are currently tied at 56th going into the third round.
"I'm pleased with how the team performed today," said head coach Anna Temple. "To follow up a solid round with another is a big improvement. We're looking forward to tomorrow's final round and the opportunity to continue building on the work we've done in the first two rounds."
Competing as an individual, Claudia Alnajim added a three-over round and is tied for 64th overall.
The Huskies will look to carry their momentum into Sunday's final round at Papago Golf Club, entering the day with a two-round total of 583.
