January 25, 2026 | Men's Basketball
SEATTLE – Double doubles from Franck Kepnang and Hannes Steinbach led the Huskies to break their three-game losing streak Sunday afternoon, as Washington defeated Oregon 72-57 inside Alaska Airlines Arena.
Five Huskies scored in double figures, led by Quimari Peterson, Zoom Diallo and Jacob Ognacevic who each had 12. All of Ognacevic's points came from behind the three-point line, recording four of Washington's 10 triples.
Kepnang recorded his second double double of the year, the first time in his career with multiple in one season, putting up 10 points and a career-high 14 rebounds against his former team.
Steinbach recorded his 12th double double with 10 points, 13 rebounds and four assists.
For the first time this season in Big Ten play, the Huskies were up at halftime, taking a 34-19 lead after 20 minutes of play. Oregon's 19 first half points were a season-low for the Ducks.
The Dawgs outrebounded the Ducks 45-23, including an 18-1 advantage on the offensive glass. UW's 45 boards were tied for the most in B1G play and fourth most of the year.
Washington's bench outscored Oregon's 36-12 while UW also held a 30-20 advantage in points in the paint.
Washington shot 10-of-21 from the three-point line, the second highest mark of the season and highest in conference play (47.6 percent).
The Dawgs are back on the road next week to take on Illinois and Northwestern.
