No. 9 Illini Take Down Huskies

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Zoom Diallo, Hannes Steinbach and Wesley Yates III led the Huskies in double figures Thursday evening as Washington fell to No. 9 Illinois 66-75 in the State Farm Center.
This was the fourth Top-15 matchup in the last five outings for the Dawgs.
Steinbach recorded his 13th double double, finishing with a team-high 15 points, 12 rebounds and a career-high four blocks.
Yates added 13 points, his most since returning from injury on Jan. 14, going 3-for-5 from the three-point line and adding five boards.
Zoom Diallo recorded his first career double double with 12 points and a career-high 10 assists. The sophomore also grabbed seven boards and went a perfect 4-for-4 from the charity stripe.
JJ Mandaquit hit 4-of-7 from the field to give the freshman guard nine points to go along with two assists in 19 minutes off the bench.
Washington outscored Illinois 34-28 in the paint but second chance points all went into the hands of the Illini, as Illinois had the 24-4 advantage on the offensive glass.
Washington continues the Midwest road trip at Northwestern on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 5 p.m. PT.
