Sprinkle Adds NBA Veteran Charles Klask To Coaching Staff

SEATTLE โ Washington head men's basketball coach Danny Sprinkle has announced the addition of longtime NBA assistant coach Charles Klask to his coaching staff ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Klask, who brings over 25 years of NBA experience to Montlake, has served under some of the most respected minds in The Association, including Rick Carlisle, Doc Rivers, Jason Kidd, Stan Van Gundy and Mike Malone.

Klask most recently sat on the bench for the Denver Nuggets, joining the organization in 2018. Led by three-time MVP Nikola Jokic, Klask helped Denver capture its first-ever NBA Championship in 2023. Klask also served as the head coach of the Nuggets' NBA Summer League team in 2021.

Ending a five-season playoff drought in Klask's first season in Denver, the Nuggets won 355 games over the seven seasons Klask spent with the organization, 75 more than in the previous seven seasons. The Nuggets never failed to qualify for the playoffs with Klask on board, advancing to the Western Conference Semifinals or later six times.

Before joining Malone's staff in the Mile High City, Klask spent four seasons with the Detroit Pistons under Van Gundy. During his time in Detroit, Klask worked with several noted top NBA talent, including Blake Griffin, Chauncey Billups and Andre Drummond.

Klask was also an assistant with the Pistons under Lawrence Frank for two seasons from 2011-13, spending a single season on Kidd's staff with the Brooklyn Nets in 2013-14 before returning to Detroit.

Klask began his NBA career during the 2000-01 season, also with the Pistons under Carlisle, as video coordinator before spending a decade with the Orlando Magic as a scout and video coordinator.

A native of Livonia, Michigan, Klask graduated from Michigan State in 1999.ย
