SEATTLE – Brynn McGaughy, Bryn Martin, and Nina Cain were named McDonald's All American 2025 West nominees, the McDonald's All American Games announced Wednesday.
The three future Huskies each signed their Big Ten Athletic Scholarship Agreements on November 13, 2024, and will join the Washington squad in the 2025-26 season.
The trio were three of 724 girls and boys basketball players nominated from across the country.
McGaughy, who was one of 25 players just named to the Naismith High School Player of the Year Midseason team, is one of four high school girls players from the state of Washington to be nominated as a McDonald's All American.
There were a total of six players, boys and girls, who were selected from Washington.
In her first season with Central Valley, McGaughy has sparked her high school team to an 11-0 start. The Washington commit dropped 20 points in a win over Sunnyside in late December and had 17 in a season debut victory over Eastmont.
Bryn Martin, a four-star and No. 68 ranked recruit, was one of ten girls student-athletes from Ohio to be nominated to the Games.
Martin has helped her Springboro team to a 9-2 record to start the season, as the senior is averaging 21.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game.
Nina Cain, a Sacramento, Calif. native and senior at McClatchy High School, is the 69th-ranked recruit in the class of 2025.
Cain has led her McClatchy team to an 11-5 start to the season, including 3-0 in league play. Last season as a junior, Cain and McClatchy went 26-7 and was a perfect 12-0 in conference play.
The McDonald's All American Games Selection Committee will soon narrow down the list of nominees to the final 48 players named to the Games' final rosters. The top 24 girls and 24 boys will be revealed at a later date.
The 2025 McDonald's All American Games, the 48th annual Games, will take place at Barclays Center in New York on April 1.
