Women’s Basketball Welcomes Four Signees In Top-10 Recruiting Class
November 13, 2024 | Women's Basketball
SEATTLE – Washington women's basketball head coach Tina Langley and staff welcomed four players to the 2025-26 squad on Wednesday.
The Huskies added four standouts in Brynn McGaughy (Spokane, Wash.), Nina Cain (Sacramento, Calif.), Bryn Martin (Springboro, Ohio), and Sienna Harvey (Australia).
This recruiting class ranks Top-10 in the nation, marking the third consecutive Top-15 recruiting class for Coach Langley and her staff.
"It's been a joy and honor to get to know these four young women," said UW head coach Tina Langley on the new class. "They all come from families who have instilled in them not just a love for the game, but a deep sense of character and work ethic that shines through in everything they do. These young women are incredibly kind and compassionate, yet equally competitive, hardworking, and driven. As a class, they bring exceptional versatility, allowing them to contribute in countless ways. But what makes them truly special is their commitment to the values and mission of our program. This class is going to leave a lasting mark here, not just as players but as people."
BRYNN MCGAUGHY
Brynn McGaughy decided to stay home in the state of Washington to join the Huskies. The 6-foot-3 forward is the highest-rated recruit to commit to Washington and the first five-star recruit under coach Tina Langley.
The Spokane, Wash. native spent three high school seasons at Colfax before transferring to Central Valley her senior season.
"Brynn is one of the most dynamic and talented players in the nation, with a rare combination of size, skill, and athleticism that allows her to excel at every position on the floor," said Langley. "She can score at all three levels, is an elite passer, and has a high IQ that makes everyone around her better. But what truly sets Brynn apart is her heart. From the moment I saw her with Ashley and Emily, they couldn't stop talking about her character. As we got to know her, it was clear that she fit our culture perfectly. She is a servant leader whose joy, love, and giving heart shine on and off the court. It's a beautiful reflection of the family and community that raised her. We are so grateful that Brynn has chosen to stay home in Washington."
McGaughy, a five-star recruit ranked No. 17 in the 2025 class by ESPN, led her Colfax team to an undefeated season as a sophomore as the team went on to win the State 2B championship and McGaughy was named State 2B player of the year.
Ashley Gill, META Hoops Club Coach
"I have been so blessed to be able to coach Brynn McGaughy for two seasons with Meta Hoops. Brynn is a generational talent; there are not many kids in the country that are as skilled, athletic, and smooth as her. She is an elite athlete that will excel on the offensive end and on the defensive side of the ball she will be able to affect the game with her length. More impressive than anything she can do on the court is who she is as a person off the court! Brynn is selfless, kind, and so thoughtful. She is the ultimate teammate, friend, daughter, and sister and I hope my own daughter grows up to be like Brynn. Every program in the country needs a kid like Brynn McGaughy."
Emily Harden (Florence), META Hoops Club Assistant Coach and UW Alumni
"I am incredibly proud to have had the opportunity to coach Brynn for the past two years, and I'm thrilled to see her continue her journey at my alma mater, the University of Washington. To share that bond with her is beyond special. Go Dawgs! Without a doubt, Brynn is an exceptional basketball player, having been heavily recruited by all the nation's top women's basketball programs. She has innate instincts on the court, combined with her physical presence, athleticism, work ethic, discipline and dedication; she has the potential to be one of the all-time great Huskies!
What truly sets Brynn apart, though, is her kind and generous spirit. She will be an outstanding leader—someone worth following—not just because of her ability on the court, but because of her character. Brynn will inspire those around her, foster lifelong friendships, and unite her teammates into a formidable force."
NINA CAIN
Nina Cain will join Washington from McClatchy High School in Sacramento, Calif. in 2025. She's ranked the No. 69 recruit in the 2025 class.
"Nina has earned her reputation as one of the most athletic players in the country," said Langley. "Her relentless motor and instinct for the ball make her a game-changer on both ends of the floor. She never takes a play off and consistently competes at the highest level for her team. She can play multiple positions, defend, rebound, and score the ball at a high level. The more we got to know her, it became clearer that she is someone with an incredible drive and work ethic. Her passion and commitment to growth stand out and align perfectly with our values and culture. Nina comes from a wonderful family that embodies love, support, and a drive to push each other toward excellence. We are honored to welcome her into our program."
The 6-foot-2 forward averaged 23.4 points per game and 9.6 rebounds per games while shooting over 50 percent as a junior last season. She was second in the nation in rebounds per game this past summer across AAU circuits.
Jeff Ota, C.K. McClatchy High School Head Coach
"Nina is a tremendous ambassador for both C.K. McClatchy High School and our basketball program. She's focused, works hard and is an outstanding leader. Nina is not only one of the most talented basketball players in the area, but she is also the hardest worker. Every day is a chance to get better and Nina does not waste a day. As a result, Nina has earned all the accolades and rewards that come her way. Our community at McClatchy is so proud of her."
Sean Chambers, JBS Club Director
"JBS will always be grateful for Nina Cain's six years with the program. Nina is not only a phenomenal basketball player but also an exceptional person. As a true team leader, she played the game with integrity, earning the love of her teammates and embodying a "we, not me" mindset. We're thrilled for Nina, her family, and UW as she embarks on her next chapter in basketball and education. Just believe."
BRYN MARTIN
Bryn Martin, a four-star recruit ranked No. 68, is a 6-foot-1 guard from Springboro, Ohio.
"Bryn is an elite competitor and counted among the most gifted scorers in the nation," said Langley. "Her length and quick release make her a threat from anywhere on the court, and she can score at all three levels. From the moment she stepped on campus, there was an instant connection. Bryn loved Washington quickly, and we loved her just as quickly. She is a young woman who embraces everything with heart—whether it's her family or the game of basketball. She is constantly in the gym, disciplined about her craft, and has an incredible courage instilled in her by her family. We're so excited Bryn is coming to Seattle, and we're deeply grateful to her family for allowing her to come across the country to make Washington her second home."
She averaged 20.8 points (including 41.1 percent shooting from three-point range) to go along with 4.9 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 2.1 steals in her junior season.
Mike Holweger, Springboro High School Coach
"Bryn Martin loves basketball, she is a winner on and off the floor and her unique work ethic and commitment to preparation have developed her into a fantastic, exciting, and fearless player. She is a fierce competitor who hates to lose, and she loves the big moments - she is at her best when games are on the line. Off the floor, Bryn is kind, funny, and empathetic. She is a loyal friend, and she is extremely close with her family."
Scott Johnson, WV Thunder Club Director
"Bryn Martin is one of the most competitive people I've ever been around in my life. Her desire to win along with her work ethic will lead her to greatness on and off the floor. She is a kid that led by example and is a person that all young kids should look up to. She's a true role model on and off the floor for the next generation of young women. Truly a joy to coach and a joy to watch play the game she truly loves so much."
Zach Johnson, Player Development Coach
"She has put in so much extra work and has sacrificed so much. She is so deserving of this incredible moment. I am so excited for her to be a Husky."
SIENNA HARVEY
Harvey, a 5-foot-10 guard, joins the Husky squad from Australia for the 2025-26 season.
"Sienna comes to Washington with an impressive international resumé and is known as one of the best two-way point guards in this class," Langley said. "Her deep love for the game is evident in the way she plays. Her court vision and high IQ create opportunities not just for herself but for everyone around her. She embodies selflessness by sacrificing for her team and doing the little things well, which makes her a clear fit for our culture. She began her development with the incredible training at the Centre of Excellence and the Australian Junior National Team and will continue to compete at the highest level in the coming months. We're so excited that Sienna made the decision to spend the next four years at Washington and we're beyond grateful to her family for the love and support it will take to have her across the world."
She averaged 7.8 points, three rebounds, and 2.6 assists with the Australian National Team earlier this year, including dropping 14 points (7-for-12) and four assists in the Aussies' dominant 124-38 win over Malaysia in group phase play. She also dropped 27 in a game against Canberra with her Centre of Excellence squad.
David Herbet, Centre of Excellence Head Coach
"Sienna has been an integral part of the Basketball Centre of Excellence Program for the past three years. Her growth both on and off the court has made her a respected leader within the program. On the court, Sienna poses a significant challenge for any defensive player or team. Her exceptional basketball IQ allows her to make quick, strategic decisions, often leaving her teammates wide open for easy baskets. With her continued development in her three-point shooting, Sienna is poised to become a formidable presence at the NCAA level. We are all excited to witness her journey at Washington over the next four to five years and wish her the best of luck!"
The Huskies added four standouts in Brynn McGaughy (Spokane, Wash.), Nina Cain (Sacramento, Calif.), Bryn Martin (Springboro, Ohio), and Sienna Harvey (Australia).
