
Washington Loses Tough Battle At No. 8 Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. – Washington women's basketball (11-3, 1-2 Pac-12) lost a tough battle to No. 8 Stanford (14-1, 3-0 Pac-12) 59-71 Sunday afternoon at Maples Pavilion in Stanford, Calif.
The Huskies showed a lot of fight, playing tough on both ends of the floor, but the Cardinal defended their home court.
Washington played fast and with a lot of heart, going into halftime trailing by five. Stanford went on a run in the third quarter and came away with the win.
There were four Huskies in double digit scoring. Dalayah Daniels led the team in scoring with 15 points, Elle Ladine finished with 12 points and five rebounds, Sayvia Sellers had 11 points, and Lauren Schwartz recorded 10 points and a team-leading four assists.
Washington held Stanford to their fewest points scored all season, and below their season average field goal percentage.
Up next, Washington returns home to take on Washington State in the Boeing Apple Cup Series game Sunday, Jan. 14 at 12 p.m. in Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle, Wash.
