Huskies Drop Regular Season Finale to Cal

Starter Jared Engman received a no decision, allowing two runs (one earned) over five complete. Case Matter took the loss, allowing six runs in relief.
Will Simpson gave Washington the lead in the first, smacking an RBI single through the right side to score Cam Clayton
The advantage lasted until the fourth, when Cal scored a pair to go ahead 2-1.
Coby Morales tied the game in exhilarating fashion, taking a massive lead down the third base line, taking off on the windup and sliding under the tag at the plate, stealing home to knot the score at two runs apiece.
A few pitches later, Michael Snyder's towering two-run blast to left gave the Huskies the lead back at 4-2.
Unfortunately, the lead would be brief. Cal struck for nine runs in the sixth, including three home runs, to regain the advantage.
Washington started the bottom half of the sixth with Sam DeCarlo's solo home run and back-to-back doubles by Cam Clayton and AJ Guerrero to give the Dawgs some life, but three more home runs in the seventh squashed the budding momentum as Cal went ahead 15-6.
DeCarlo sent his second bomb into the drink in left in the seventh, hammering a two-run shot into Union Bay. Coby Morales added a three-run blast in the ninth but it wasn't enough as Cal clinched the series.

• Washington has hit at least one home run in nine straight games, leaving the yard multiple times in six of those games.
• Sam DeCarlo became the fifth Husky this season to post a multi-home run game.
