Ladine Named USBWA National Freshman of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Washington women's basketball freshman guard Elle Ladine has been named U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) National Freshman of the Week.
Ladine joins South Carolina's Aliyah Boston and Iowa's Caitlin Clark as national players of the week. She is the USBWA's Tamika Catchings freshman recipient of the weekly awards.
Just one day after being named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week, Ladine continues to receive recognition for her stellar performances over the weekend as the Huskies swept their two-game homestand vs. California and then-No. 2 Stanford.
On February 3 vs. California, the San Francisco, Calif. native tied her career high (at the time) 10 points off 50% shooting, also recording three rebounds and a steal in 18 minutes played. On February 5 vs. then-No. 2 Stanford, Ladine came off the bench to lead all scorers with a career high 21 points off 47% shooting. She also recorded three assists and a career high three steals in 28 minutes.
