Washington Hosts No. 6 Arizona Saturday for White Out at Hec Ed
January 27, 2023 | Men's Basketball
SEATTLE – Washington (13-9, 5-6 Pac-12) hosts sixth-ranked Arizona on Saturday after leveling the score against Arizona State on Thursday. The Huskies improved to 3-0 in overtime games this season and enter Saturday's game winners of four of their last five games.
Tip-off is set for 2:30 p.m. with Aaron Goldsmith and Donny Marshall calling the game on FOX while Tony Castricone and Jason Hamilton will call the action on the Husky Sports Network, and locally on Sports Radio KJR-AM 950.
Coaches vs Cancer week continues and the coaching staff will be wearing #SuitsAndSneakers again to raise awareness for the fight against cancer. It is also a White Out inside Alaska Airlines Arena.
The Matchup
The Huskies and Wildcats meet for the second time this month following a close contest in Tucson in which Arizona escaped with a 70-67 win. It was the 30th game in the series decided by five points or fewer. The Wildcats enter Saturday's contest having won the last six matchups with the Huskies. UW has only defeated Arizona three times since 2012 with two of those victories happening away from Hec Ed.
Last Time Out
Keion Brooks Jr. scored 22 points, Noah Williams scored 18 points and Washington used a 32-8 first-half barrage to overcome a sluggish start and beat Arizona State 69-66 in overtime Thursday night. The Huskies have made seven or more three-pointers in six-straight games. They have not hit 7+ threes in eight consecutive games since 2019. Game recap
Signing Day
Four-star recruit Wesley Yates III (Beaumont, Texas/Beaumont United) signed a National Letter of Intent on Nov. 16, announcing his commitment to Washington. Yates is the 37th-ranked prospect on ESPN's Top-100. The signing continues the momentum built from last year's class, which includes the No. 1 rated player in the state of Washington, Tyler Linhardt (Seattle, Wash./King's HS) and guard Keyon Menifield Jr. (Mount Morris, Mich./Phoenix [Ariz.] Prep).
Up Next
The Huskies head to Los Angeles for a second-straight matchup against a top-10 opponent. UW will tip off against No. 8 UCLA Thursday at 6:00 p.m. on FS1.
Tickets
Season tickets, passes and single-game tickets are available.
