SEATTLE - Now with the first win of the season under their belt, the Washington Huskies will stay in Seattle and play another crosstown opponent, hosting Seattle Pacific on Saturday at 2:00 pm.

Washington is 1-0-0 after defeating Seattle U 1-0 last week on an own goal created by pressure from Sianna Siemonsma off a Karlee Stueckle cross. The victory was the first of Nicole Van Dyke's Husky career. It was the second year in a row that Washington has started the season with a shutout. Another shutout would make it the fifth time in program history that Washington has started the year with back-to-back shutouts.

The Huskies managed 19 shots in the season opener, including nine on goal. Washington has not had more shots in a season opener since 2017, when they outshot Michigan 22-7. Over the last five years, Washington has averaged 17 shots in its season opener.

NEW KEEPER, SAME SHUTOUT
Olivia Sekany earned a shutout in her first start as a Husky, stopping all three shots she faced against Seattle U. Sekany was the first Husky to earn a shutout in her first start as a Husky since Sarah Shimer did so in 2015.

THE FULL 90
Four Huskies played all 90 minutes for Washington in the season opener: Kaylene Pang, Shae Holmes, Tasia Kravitz, and Mary Johnston. Kravitz had only played over 25 minutes in a game once in her career before that performance. Johnston had played 57 total minutes for Washington previously, topping out with 28 minutes in a game. Holmes has now played all 90 minutes in each of the last three games for Washington, stretching back to the beginning of the 2019 postseason.
