SEATTLE – No. 10 Washington scored early and often Sunday afternoon against Montana, defeating the Grizzlies 4-0 at Husky Soccer Stadium.

The win moves Washington to 3-0-0 for the first time since 2014.

Dominating from start to finish, UW outshot Montana 16-3 on the day, putting seven shots on net. Tanner Ijams wasn't tested often, but came up with the save both times she was called upon.

The Dawgs wasted no time going ahead, with Anna Menti sending a bullet header into the back of the net off of Andrea Leyva's service from the right side in the fourth minute.

Under three minutes later, Grizzlies keeper Jill Miliffe was picking the ball back out of her. UW's second came from the penalty spot after Alex Buck drew a foul in the 18-yard box. Captain Lucy Newlin took the ball, slotting the ball into the bottom corner.

After spending the first 44 minutes of the match with little action, Ijams had to spring to life with just seconds left on the clock, going full stretch to paw away Megan Wilson-Sofield's shot destined for the top corner.

Just like the first half, Washington started the second quickly. Under three minutes after the restart, meeting Leyva's corner service with her head and bulging the top netting.

The Huskies continued on the attack and made it 4-0 in the 66^th minute. The play started on the left flank, with Maya Loudd sending in a looping ball towards the far post. Ava Morton met the ball in stride and sent a header off the post, with Angelica Chou cleaning up the rebound for her first collegiate goal.

The Dawgs remain home for their next match, hosting in-state foe Gonzaga on Wednesday, Aug. 26 at 5:00 p.m. PT. The match will be available for streaming through B1G+
