Washington’s Buck Named to Hermann Trophy Watch List

ST. LOUIS – University of Washington third year forward Alex Buck has been named to the Watch List for the 2026 Hermann Trophy, the highest honor in NCAA Division I women's soccer presented annually by the Missouri Athletic Club.
Buck is one of 63 players tabbed to the watch list, compiled by members of the Division I Women's All-America Council from a pool of returning 2025 All-Americans and First Team All-Region players.
A First Team All-Big Ten forward and United Soccer Coaches Fourth Team All-American in 2026, Buck rose to national notoriety during her second collegiate campaign after finishing on a torrid pace through Big Ten play and into the NCAA Tournament.
The Medina, Washington, native led the Big Ten Champion Huskies with nine goals, all scored after the start of league play. The lightning fast striker took her game to another level in postseason action, registering a brace in UW's NCAA First Round win over Montana before delivering the golden goal in the Dawgs' Second Round victory over No. 4 Arkansas.
Buck, who opened her scoring account this past Sunday in Washington's 4-0 win over Montana, recently embarked for Poland, where she will compete with the United States Youth National Team at the 2026 U20 World Cup.

The Hermann Trophy is presented annually by the Missouri Athletic Club and is the nation's highest individual honor, recognizing the National Player of the Year as determined by a vote of Division I head coaches who are members of United Soccer Coaches. The award is named in honor of the late Robert Hermann, the St. Louis, Mo., businessman and soccer executive who founded the National Professional Soccer League — the first professional soccer league in the United States, which later became the North American Soccer League. Hermann was inducted into the U.S. Soccer Hall of Fame in 2012.
