SEATTLE – The Washington Huskies broke through in the second half for a resounding 2-0 win over the Seattle Pacific Falcons Saturday. Washington's goals came from Mary Johnston and Ameera Hussen less than two minutes apart. The Huskies move to 2-0-0 with the win.

Johnston and Hussen each scored their first goals of the season, with Ruby Hellstrom earning her first assist of the 2021 campaign. Washington outshot the opposition 18-1 and did not allow a single shot on goal in the game. Olivia Sekany and Caeley Goldstein were in net for the Huskies, combining for the clean sheet.

The Huskies controlled the ball throughout and eventually broke through midway through the second half. Washington fired 12 shots in the second half alone and did not allow a single Seattle Pacific shot until the 89^th minute, with that shot going high and away from the goal. Through two games, Washington has now outshot the opposition 37-8.

		SCORING
76' \| Hellstrom pushed a pass to Johnston near the top corner of the box. Johnston made one move to get around her defender, then sent a curving shot to the far post for a beautiful goal. 77' \| It took just over a minute for the Huskies to score again. This time, Hussen sent in a corner kick that scraped off the keeper's hand and into the back of the net in a crowd of bodies trying to knock it out.

		NOTES
This is the second year in a row that the Huskies have begun the year with back-to-back shutouts. Hellstrom's assist was the first of her career. Sianna Siemonsma's five shots were her most since 2018.
