Huskies Set For Final Pac-12 Road Matchup

EUGENE, Ore. โ The Huskies will take on Oregon on Sunday afternoon at Papé Field for the final conference road match of the season. Washington (5-7-4, 3-3-3) heads into the contest with the Ducks (9-3-5, 4-3-2) coming off a big 2-1 victory at Oregon State on Thursday.
Olivia Van der Jagt scored the game-winner in the 79th minute, her third goal of the season. Van der Jagt found the ball in the middle of the box off a corner kick, delivering a shot that was blocked initially and ended up back at her feet. Karlee Stueckle nudged it toward Van der Jagt where she was then able to finish it off for the goal, giving the Huskies a 2-1 lead.
The Huskies took a 1-0 lead in the 38th minute when Weinert played a cross in, and the ball was knocked around the box, with Ruby Hellstrom the last to get her foot on it, and able to poke it home for her third goal of the season. Summer Yates and Ameera Hussen were credited with assists on the play. In the match against the Beavers, the Huskies recorded at team high 23 shots, with nine on goal.
Yates' assist was her team high fourth of the season and also her 54th career point, which is ninth in program history. Yates' shot on goal percentage of .615 is the highest in the conference of any player with more than 12 shots on goal. In nine conference matches, Yates is averaging 1.22 points per game, which is 7th in the Pac-12. Yates is also fifth in SOG per game at 1.67 in Pac-12 play.
Van der Jagt has played 86 career games in her career which is tied for first in program history with Kate Deines. McKenzie Weinert made an impact in her 64 minutes off the bench against OSU, on a game high five shots, with two on target.
Goalkeeper Olivia Sekany holds a .750 save percentage in conference play and a 1.37 goals against average. She has recorded 61 saves so far, an average of 3.81 per game. Sekany's seven saves on Thursday were tied for the second most of the fall. Her third shutout of the season and 11th of her UW career came against Cal, as she recorded three saves in that contest.
The Huskies and Ducks will be facing off for the 26th time, with UW on a five-game winning streak and leading the overall series 19-4-2. Most recently, Washington won 1-0 in overtime at Husky Soccer Stadium this April. Ameera Hussen scored the golden goal in the match.
The Huskies return home on Friday, for the final match of Pac-12 play, facing Washington State at Husky Soccer Stadium at 6:00 p.m.
