SEATTLEΒ - In their final tuneup before Pac-12 play begins, the Washington Huskies (7-4) will host the Utah Valley University Wolverines (3-10) in a four-game series at Husky Ballpark.
The teams will kick off the series with a 6:00 p.m. game on Friday, before playing a double-header on Saturday starting at 2:00 p.m. The teams will wrap up the series on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. with young fans being allowed to circle the bases following the series finale.
After this weekend, the Huskies commence Pac-12 play by traveling to Los Angeles for a three-game series at USC.
This weekend's action will be streamed on the Pac-12 Network/Washington live stream platform with Max Gun calling all the action. SERIES HISTORY VS. UTAH VALLEY
The Huskies and Wolverines have played a trio of three-game series in their teams' history with Washington leading 7-2 all-time. The Huskies swept a pair of series in both 2005 and 2008, while the Wolverines won two of three in 2007 in Orem, Utah. In 2008, the Huskies outscored the Wolverines 29-6 in a three-game sweep. In 2007, Utah Valley won the first two games in the series, 8-5 and 17-9, before UW rebounded for a 20-7 win in the finale. In the first ever matchup between the two teams, UW won 3-1 on March 28, 2005. They followed with 11-1 and 6-5 wins to earn the sweep.

β’ Emanuels On Target: Junior Stevie Emanuels leads the Pac-12 with 30 strikeouts -- 12 looking -- in just 15.2 innings pithced. He ranks eighth nationally with 17.23 strikeouts per nine innings, also tops among Pac-12 pitchers, and is ninth with a 1.15 ERA.Β
β’ Emanuels Top-10 List: Last Friday's start for Emanuels marked the 68th appearance of his UW career and moved him into a tie for 10th all-time in UW history. His next appearance will move him into sole ninth-place all-time and leave him one behind his current pitching coach Elliott Cribby (70) for eighth. Teammate Leo Nierenberg (64) is four appearances away from also entering the top-10 realm.
β’ Lamb Is A Lion: Junior Dylan Lamb has had an outstanding start to the 2020 season and leads the Pac-12 with a .088 batting average against. He has also allowed one earned run over 11 innings pitched and is fifth in the Pac-12 with a 0.88 ERA. Β Among qualified Conference pitchers, he leads by allowing three hits on the year.
β’ Ward Stolen Base Watch: Junior Braiden Ward enters the weekend tied for sixth all-time with Jeb Best on UW's career stolen bases top-10 list with 53. He needs two more to enter the top-five and tie Derrin Doty at 55. Β Ward currently leads the Pac-12 with eight stolen bases (tied for 12th nationally) and is attempting to be the first Conference player to lead the league three times.
β’ Ward Streaking: Ward is the only Husky to reach base in all 11 games this season. He is also amid a seven-game hit streak, one shy of equaling his career high. He is 11-for-28 (.393) during that stretch, raising his batting average from .125 to .295.
β’ Delorefice Saving His Best For Last: Junior Davis Delorefice has emerged as UW's closer and in fact is tied for the Pac-12 lead with three saves on the season. Delorefice is also the first Husky two-way player since Brian Pearl in 2010.Β
β’ Second Inning Magic: The second inning has been magical for the Huskies' offense in 2020. So far, they have scored 20 runs in the inning and had multiple runs in the inning in six out of 11 games. They have also had great success in the eighth and ninth innings, scoring seven runs in the eighth and nine in the ninth, but have combined for 14 runs total in every other inning.
