Huskies Rolls Past Grand Canyon, 7-0

SEATTLE --- Washington returned to action on Friday with a 7-0 win over Grand Canyon on Friday night at Nordstrom Tennis Center.
The Huskies improve to 4-1 on the season with the win while the Lopes dropped to 0-5.
Washington picked up the doubles point with Ewen Lumsden and Jack Pulliam recording a quick 6-1 win at No. 2 followed by a 6-3 win at No. 3 from Kailuhia Lam and Liam Puttergill.
In singles, Lumsden was first off, winning 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2. Jack Davis followed closely after that with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 1 just before Adam Torocsik clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 6.
Liam Puttergill picked up at win at No. 5 in a third-set tiebreaker, winning splitting a pair of 6-4 sets before winning 10-8 in the one-set tiebreaker. The most entertaining match came at No. 4 where Brandon Wong and David Weber engaged in an epic tiebreaker. Won lost the first set 6-4, but rallied to take the second by the identical score. In the one-set tiebreaker, the two battled back and forth in one of the longest tiebreakers seen at the NTC with Wong finally pulling it out 19-17. Pulliam then closed out the match with a 6-4, 7-6 (4) at No. 3.
Washington returns to action on Sunday night at 5:00 p.m., hosting Cal Poly at the Nordstrom Tennis Center. Free admission and free pizza are availabel to all fans.
