First Road Trip Of Season For Huskies Next

SEATTLE - The Washington Huskies hit the road for the first time in the 2019 campaign this week, heading to Portland to take on the Denver Pioneers in a neutral-site game hosted by the Portland Pilots. This will be just the second time Washington and Denver have ever played each other.

Washington got in the win column this last weekend, defeating New Mexico 2-1 after losing a nailbiter to #2 North Carolina 3-2. Summer Yates had two goals on the weekend, while Mary Johnston and Makena Carr both got in on the scoring as well. Jessika Cowart was named the Husky Invitational Most Valuable Defensive Player for her work as the holding midfielder over the weekend.

| Summer Yates had a goal and an assist against New Mexico on Sunday, her second career game with a goal and an assist. She also scored against North Carolina, making it three goals in four Husky Invitational games during Yates' career. In 12 career non-conference games, Yates has five goals and two assists. The goals in back-to-back games this weekend was the first time Yates has ever scored in consecutive games. | ||

LISA LENDS A HAND | |
| Lisa Jensen earned her first assist of the year this weekend, heading on the ball against New Mexico on Makena Carr's goal. After recording zero assists in her first two years at Washington, Jensen has three over the last two seasons. She has now recorded points in each of the last three seasons and has started 42 of Washington's last 43 games. In her last 13 non-conference games, Jensen has a goal and three assists. | ||

| Dani Hansen had her season-long shutout streak end after 256 minutes, allowing three goals to #2 North Carolina. Hansen began her career with 278 shutout minutes, the longest by a Husky keeper since Kelsey Rasmussen started her career with a 406-minute shutout streak in 2003. Against New Mexico, Hansen made a career-high six saves. | ||
