SERIES HISTORY VS. WASHINGTON STATE
WSU leads the Boeing Apple Cup Series with an all-time series record of 243-195. The Huskies won two-of-three in 2018 to snap a streak of three-straight series wins by the Cougars. The Huskies last series win in Pullman came in 2013 when the swept the Cougars on the Palouse. Since Lindsay Meggs took over at UW in 2010, the Huskies hold a 16-13 advantage. The historic series began in 1901, where the two teams met for the first game in Husky baseball history. The Huskies have plenty of ties to WSU, including Mason Cerrillo, who played for them in 2015, hitting .240 in 30 games. Joe Wainhouse's dad, Dave, was a Cougar standout and is the highest drafted WSU player in the school's history (1st RD, 19th overall, 1988).
NOTEWORTHY
• Kahle 100 Straight Starts: On Tuesday, catcher Nick Kahle made his 100th consecutive start. During that streak, he has started 96 times at catcher, three times at designated hitter and twice in left field.
• Kahle Walking Towards Record: With a month still left in the season, Kahle has already drawn 43 bases on ball, which ranks as the sixth most in UW single-season history. His total is the most by a Husky in 19 years and he is threatening to break the all-time school record of 56 set by Chris Magruder in 1998. Over UW's last five games he has walked 11 times.
• Wainhouse Top-10: Senior Joe Wainhouse enters the weekend having homered in three of the last four games. His latest homer binge has moved him into tie with three other for ninth on the UW career list with 27 (list on pg 3).
• Meggs Gets 900th win: Lindsay Meggs won the 900th game of his 26-year coaching career last Saturday, thanks to the Huskies' coming back twice in extra innings. Meggs spent 13 years coaching DII at Chico State (1994-2006), three seasons at Indiana State (2007-09) and is in his 10th year at UW (2010-19).
• K-hris Micheles Is Doing O-K: Chris Micheles has recorded the most strikeouts among Pac-12 pitchers who have not made a start this season and ranks 7th among ALL pitchers.
