REVISED MEET INFORMATION | REVISED EVENT SCHEDULE (Final) | REVISED HEAT SHEETS | Live Results
SEATTLE – Due to expected inclement weather and a campus-wide shutdown, the Husky Classic meet planned for this Friday and Saturday in the Dempsey has had a significant schedule change but will still provide a complete program of events and a full day of top-notch competition condensed into Friday.
Saturday's session will no longer be held and the start of Friday's session has been moved to the morning, beginning at 9 a.m. and concluding at 4 p.m.
Please see the following update from Director of Track & Field Maurica Powell and Head Coach Andy Powell.
Coaches and Athletes,
As you may be aware, in anticipation of significant snowfall beginning on Friday afternoon, the University of Washington Seattle campus will suspend operations at 12:30 pm, Friday, February 8, and all day on Saturday, February 9. Accordingly, the Husky Classic will be halted at 4pm on Friday afternoon. We will collapse our schedule into a condensed time frame FRIDAY ONLY. The competition director will assess conditions throughout the day and will determine if further schedule changes are necessary.
In the interest of creating a meet program that provides NCAA qualifying opportunities we will prioritize holding those events with the most potential NCAA qualifiers, as well as those original Day 1 events for which most competitors are already safely in Seattle. We will condense heats and flights as best we can and do everything possible to provide competitive opportunities given our time limitations tomorrow.
We truly appreciate your patience. Please make your paramount consideration be the safety of your teams and use caution when traveling to and from campus during this period of inclement weather.
Maurica and Andy Powell
The Washington Track & Field Alumni event planned for Saturday post-meet has been canceled.

Running the hurdles will be Hill, Jones Toutant, Rusnak, Stueckle and Wilson.
On the men's side, Kevin Liu, Kemuel Santana, and Khalil Winfrey are all entered in both the 60- and 200-meters. The 400-meters is set to have Oscar Herrera, Evan Mafilas, and Jason Palmer. Multi-eventer Parker Kennedy will race in the 60m hurdles.
The women have a big contingent entered at 800-meters, comprised of Hannah Derby, Nicole Goecke, Kelly Makin, Katie Rainsberger, Ashley Sande, and Erica Schroeder. Allie Schadler will run the mile for a second-straight meet along with Anna Maxwell.
In the mid-distances, at 800-meters the men will run Devan Kirk and Connor Morello, along with freshman Cass Elliott and redshirt freshman Arthur Beyer. The mile will be highlighted by Mick Stanovsek in his first run at the distance this season, along with Nate Beamer.
The men's mile will have several Brooks Beasts members coming off a 4xMile Relay World Record set two weeks ago, a group that included former Husky Izaic Yorks.
Friday night's distance races will have the eyes of the NCAA upon them. The top heat of the women's 3,000-meters features Husky All-American Katie Rainsberger battling it out with multiple NCAA Champions including Boise State's Allie Ostrander, Oregon's Jessica Hull, and New Mexico's Ednah Kurgat. Earlier 3k heats will also feature Emily Hamlin, Olivia O'Keeffe, Hannah Waskom, Sarah Carter, and Kiera Marshall.
The loaded top heat of the men's 3k has Talon Hull moving up a bit in distance after his sub-four mile two weeks back. In the third heat, Julius Diehr will race while Nick Laccinole and freshmen Isaac Mohn and Alex Slenning are in the first two heats. Former Husky All-American and 2018 grad Andrew Gardner will also be in heat two of the 3k.
The women's 5k top section sees Huskies Izzi Batt-Doyle and Lilli Burdon stepping up to chase some times in the 15-minute range. Fred Huxham, ranked sixth nationally in the 3k, will move to the 5k this week and run in the men's top heat along with Tanner Anderson, a 2018 NCAA Indoor qualifier at that distance last season. In the third of the four heats, Gavin Parpart and Tibebu Proctor will run their first 5k's of the season.
Olivia Gruver, coming off her 14-10 clearance at the UW Invitational, will be in the top women's vault section once again. Makenna Barton, Monica Cohen, Annika Dayton, Allyson Ely and Kim Kramers will all look to raise some PRs this weekend. The men will have Blaise Black, Parker Kennedy, Zach Shugart, Joey Weiler vaulting along with Chase Smith competing unattached.
In the horizontal jumps, Jelani Heath, Jones Toutant and Rusnak go in the women's long jump and Sam Richmond competes in the long jump along with Kennedy. Jaylen Taylor will jump in both the long and triple jumps.
Sophomore Jonah Wilson will look to keep things rolling in the men's shot put with Jose Padilla joining him in the ring. In the men's weight throw, Connor Jost and Elijah Mason are both coming off PRs and will aim to build on those.
In the women's throws, junior Angel Nkwonta will toss the shot and senior Onyie Chibuogwu will go for a third consecutive PR in the women's weight throw along with Zoe Roberson. Makayla Kelby and Ginny Mehl will compete unattached.
