Huskies To Host Field Trip Day on Nov. 13
November 01, 2019 | Women's Basketball
The University of Washington women's basketball team is excited to announce its first annual Field Trip Day presented by the Husky School Network. The program--open to kids in Kindergarten through 6th Grade--takes place during the Huskies' game against Weber State on Wednesday, Nov. 13 with tip-off slated for 10:00 a.m.
In addition to the excitement of a Washington women's basketball game, students will be engaged throughout the game with some of the most entertaining and educational programs the UW has to offer including elements from our Husky School Network assemblies! Each student also receives a workbook with age appropriate activities to enhance the educational value of this event!
"We are so excited to host Field Trip Day!" said UW Head Coach Jody Wynn. "Field Trip Day allows our Seattle area youth to come to campus and see collegiate student-athletes compete for our university. We hope to inspire the kids to chase their dreams and aspire to become college students themselves. The energy they will bring with their loud cheers will make for a fun-filled arena. It's truly motivating to be on a college campus and there's nothing better than cheering on the Huskies!"
Prior to the game, kids can take part in photo stations with Dubs, Harry the Husky and the UW Spirit Squad; Tour the Husky Hall of Fame; check out the UW Gymnastics Facility, create their own 3-point card; and participate in the Classroom Challenge! The Classroom Attendance Challenge gives all schools attending Field Trip Day the opportunity to enter to win exclusive giveaways.
During the game, ll activities and promotions will be geared towards the youth to cheer on head coach Jody Wynn and the University of Washington women's basketball team. Complete with fun, interactive, and educational experiences. During the game, schools will have the opportunity to enjoy: educational halftime presentation by the Husky School Network; UW Spirit Squad cheer lessons; musical chairs with Harry the Husky; a teacher dance-off and more!
Admission is free for those students, teachers, and school staff who RSVP, while there is free parking for school buses and vans.
