SEATTLE – A double-overtime thriller saw the Washington Huskies get the job done, beating the #25 Arizona Wildcats 3-2 on a golden goal from Ameera Hussen. The Dawgs fought back to tie the game twice before winning on Hussen's free kick goal in the second overtime. Washington sits at 4-1-0 in Pac-12 play, behind only Stanford in the conference standings.

Summer Yates and Sianna Siemonsma had the other two goals for the Huskies. Siemonsma's goal came off a corner, while Yates scored on a late PK. Washington trailed for 41 minutes in the game but found the goals they needed each time to tie things back up. In all, the Huskies had 19 shots, coming ever so close to back-to-back 20-shot games in the six-point weekend.

"The overall effort was tremendous," said Lesle Gallimore about the Huskies. "To come back twice in this game and win it at home like that, it makes all the difference in the world."

All three of Washington's goals came from set pieces, with the Huskies ending the day with seven corners. Washington was dangerous every time on set pieces and nearly scored a number of times: Cassidy Lucht's header beat the keeper but went over the bar, while Yates almost curved a corner directly into the net, only for it be a bit too high.

		SCORING
26:16 \| A soft foul outside the box gave Arizona a dangerous free kick, which they converted after pushing the ball into the net through a crowd of bodies. 40:01 \| A stunner of a goal tied the game. After the referee appeared to signal for substitutions, Washington was allowed to take the corner kick as players entered the pitch. Siemonsma fought in the box for the free ball and put it in for the goal. 57:47 \| Arizona got behind the backline as a steal created a one-on-one breakaway. Ruelas forced the attacker to the side of the net but couldn't get a touch on the ball as it rolled in. 84:03 \| Carr has tripped up in the box to draw a penalty kick. Yates would convert easily as the keeper guessed the wrong side, tying the game. 102:37 \| With the Huskies controlling the ball all of the second OT, Hussen was the one to end the game. With the keeper cheating toward the far post, Hussen sent a screamer to the near post and in to win it.

		NOTES
Siemonsma's goal was the sixth of her career. She has scored at least one goal each of her three seasons. Makena Carr has three points (G, A) in the last four games. Washington's last golden goal win was September 7, 2018 in double OT against UC Irvine. Hussen matched her career high in points, recording her fifth today.
