Huskies Dominate In 5-0 Win Over Seattle U
September 16, 2018 | Women's Soccer
SEATTLE – A dominant defensive first half and an overwhelming offense in the second carried Washington to a 5-0 win over the Seattle U Redhawks Sunday. Five different Huskies scored in the game, including the first goals of the year for Kennedy Smith and Asia Brisco. Pascale Dumesnil, Sianna Siemonsma, and Ruby Hellstrom all also scored in the game.
Washington did not allow a shot in the first half and allowed none on goal in the entire game, the first time this season the Huskies have not allowed a shot on goal. The Huskies fired 20 shots of their own, the third time in the first eight games of the season Washington has had at least that many shots. Over the last three games, all wins, Washington has 59 shots.
"We talked a lot at halftime about putting our stamp on things," said Lesle Gallimore about what fed the big four-goal second half. "Summer Yates and Olivia Van der Jagt and Jessika Cowart all played great in the midfield and gave us the chance to get the ball down and pass it around a little bit. Asia played great, Kennedy was really good so I was happy to see her rewarded for it, same with Sianna."
The win kept Washington undefeated against Seattle U, stretching the all-time series record to 13-0-0.

49' | What a beauty of a goal by Smith as she drops a defender, then defies the very laws of mathematics with that curve!#GoHuskies pic.twitter.com/SLOh88FQZb
