SEATTLE – Early offense pushed the Washington Huskies to a 3-0 win over Cal State Fullerton in their first home action of the year. Olivia Van der Jagt, Summer Yates, and Sianna Siemonsma all scored their first goals of the year in the first half as Washington cruised to its first shutout of the season. Siena Ruelas made two saves and Jessica Udovich picked up a defensive save in the win.

"Right now, we have so many moving parts and are just trying to continually get better and try new players to see what they bring," said head coach Lesle Gallimore. "Olo [Van der Jagt] was tremendous today, Cassidy Lucht came in and played great in the midfield. Summer [Yates]'s goal was a banger: you don't see many freshman come in with the confidence to do something like that."

		SCORING
1:31 \| Van der Jagt intercepted a pass above the penalty area for an early scoring chance. The sophomore took one quick dribble to her left to beat the only defender in front of her, then fired her shot into the bottom right corner for her first career goal. 21:59 \| Mireya Grey ran down a ball on the left wing as the Huskies put the pressure on, with the first cross bouncing out to her. Grey immediately passed back to Jensen, who whipped in a cross to Yates just above the box. Yates played the ball down off her chest, then put a left-footed shot into the back of the net for a 2-0 lead. 36:23 \| Siemonsma's hustle put the Huskies up 3-0. Siemonsma was the first to a loose ball in the attack half, leaving her with only the goalkeeper in front of her. She dribbled in and forced the goalkeeper to dive at the ball, leaving an empty net for the Siemonsma goal.

		NOTES
Three of Washington's four goal-scorers this season have scored their first career goals: Ruby Hellstrom, Yates, and Van der Jagt. Ruelas recorded her first career shutout in her second career start after winning Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week last year. Udovich's defensive save, heading the ball away while alone in front of the goal, was the first of her career. Lucht, MaKayla Woods, and Laura Roberts made their Husky debuts. Asia Brisco and Natasa Eleftheriou made their first appearances of 2018.
