Dawgs Continue Homestand Hosting No. 25 Arizona State Thursday

UW (15-6, 5-3) vs. No. 25 ASU (16-5, 4-5)
UW continues its three-game homestand at Alaska Airlines Arena, this time taking on two-straight ranked opponents starting with No. 25 Arizona State on Thursday, Feb. 1 at 8 p.m. The game will be televised on Pac-12 Networks with Guy Haberman and Eldridge Recasner on the call. Additionally, fans can tune into KOMO 1000AM and 97.7 FM to hear the official UW radio broadcast from Tony Castricone and Jason Hamilton. This is the only meeting between the two squads this season as UW does not travel to Arizona.
The Coach
Head Coach Mike Hopkins is in his first year at Washington, and first as a head coach becoming the 19th head coach in UW history. After spending 22 years as an assistant at Syracuse, Hopkins oversaw teams that reached the NCAA Tournament 16 times including the 2003 National Championship, four Final Fours, five Elite Eights and 10 Sweet 16s along with four NIT berths. Syracuse never dipped below a 55.0 percent record while Hopkins was on staff.

• Washington posted its largest win margin of Pac-12 conference play this season defeating WSU by 18 points

Washington recorded a season-high 50 rebounds at Colorado, its most since 54 at Gonzaga a year ago (Dec. 7, 2016) ... additionally UW had two players with 10 or more rebounds in Noah Dickerson and Matisse Thybulle for the first time this season
• The Huskies have recorded 10 or more steals nine times this season in its 20 games ... the last season where UW had at least 10 steals nine times was the 2009-10 campaign
•Junior Matisse Thybulle became the first Husky in program history to rank in the career top 10 in both categories ... Thybulle has 168 career steals (5th) and 86 career blocks (9th).
• Thybulle is also nearing the UW single-season steals record as he currently has 64 which is fourth ... the junior also holds the third-best single-season mark as he recorded 65 a year ago in 31 games ... the single season record is 67 (Bryant Boston, 1994-95, 27 games).
• Junior Noah Dickerson is getting close to becoming the 36th player in UW history to reach the 1,000 career scoring mark as he currently has 937 points ... his average of 14.2 ppg has him on pace to reach that mark this season
• In 21 games, freshman Jaylen Nowell has recorded seven 20+ scoring efforts while leading the team in scoring 10 times ... he has scored at least 10 points in 14-straight games and in 20 of his 21 career games
• Nowell is now ninth all time amongst UW freshmen in scoring as he has 351 career points passing Quincy Pondexter (2006-07, 342 points) ... eighth place is Mark Sanford (1994-95, 378 points)
