
No. 8 Washington Continues Pac-12 Play In Arizona

SEATTLE -- The No. 8 University of Washington women's basketball team (16-2, 4-1) continues Pac-12 play on the road this weekend, traveling to Tucson to play Arizona (Jan. 13) and Tempe to face Arizona State (Jan. 15). Both games will be broadcast live on Pac-12 Networks.
The Huskies are coming off a sweep of the L.A. schools at home, beating No. 17 UCLA 82-70 on Sunday (Jan. 8) after defeating USC 77-67 on Friday (Jan. 6).
Washington moved to No. 8 in the latest AP Top 25 poll, its highest ranking of the season, joining five other Pac-12 schools: Oregon State at No. 10, Stanford at No. 13, UCLA at No. 17, Arizona State at No. 19 and Cal at No. 24.
In the latest RPI, Washington is ranked No. 9, joining Oregon State (No. 5), Stanford (No. 12) and UCLA (No. 13) in the Top 15. With its highest ranking since 2003-04, the Huskies were selected to finish third in the Pac-12, receiving two first-place votes and garnering 93 points.
Washington tops the NCAA in several categories this season, including leading the nation in made three-point field goals (203). Washington is 203-of-504 from three-point range, hitting at a .403 clip and 12 different players have hit at least one. The team's 11.3 three-point field goals per game ranks third.
Washington's 303 made free throws ranks second in the NCAA, while the squad's 78.5 free throw percentage is 10th-best. The Huskies' 26.6 scoring margin and 88.4 points per game each rank fifth.
Seniors Kelsey Plum and Chantel Osahor are leading the nation in scoring and rebounding, respectively. Plum is averaging 30.7 points per game and Osahor is averaging 13.7 rebounds per game. Osahor's 14 double-doubles also tops the NCAA.
Plum enters Friday's game 29 points shy of becoming the first player in Pac-12 history to score 3,000, women or men. The Poway, Calif. native's 119 made free throws, 185 field goals made and 553 total points also leads the NCAA.
