Opening Statement: "I wanted it so bad for them, so this is a tough one to swallow. I think the effort was there, they battled the entire game against a team who is relentless with running, running, running. They're a team that averages shooting 28 threes a game, they're a team that averages a 12-second shot clock - so I don't think there were any surprises there. I wish I could just tip that ball in for these ladies because they deserved it."
On Sacramento's Shooting: "They're very good at penetrating and dishing. The game plan was to slow up the penetration and not commit to that dribbler, make sure you find that shooter. I think we did a very good job at it. They hit some shots, and I can't wait to look at the tape later, and see the contested threes they took. On an offensive board, that's a tough pill to swallow when you work that hard on defense and they get the o-board and of course everybody crashes so the one shooter is out there spotted up and that's the one they hit."
On shutting down Regina Rogers: "Every game and Sacramento State was smart, they almost tripled teamed her sometimes. We re-emphasized do not put that ball down on the floor to make a move because they're there and they were swarming to her. We wanted to use her as a decoy to let these guys [shooting guards] find their rhythm."

On last shot: "Sami crashed and got the ball and no one matched up on me so Sami kicked it to me. It felt good, it was a heartbreaker."

On comeback: "There were good passes down the stretch and unfortunately I wasn't able to connect with them but I'm proud at how we fought back. We were down 10 with three minutes left and I think last year's team or maybe even a team earlier this year would've given up but we really fought to the end and had a chance to send it into overtime."
