Washington's loss to Oregon State today snapped its six-game home winning streak against the Beavers. Until today, the last time OSU defeated UW at Bank of America Arena was Feb. 21, 2002 - a 73-71 overtime game.
The UW loss dropped its all-time record against Oregon State to 47-26 and 25-10 at home.
The loss is the fourth-straight for Washington which dropped to 1-4 in Pac-10 action.
Junior guard Christina Rozier scored a career-high 11 points, surpassing her previous high of nine set versus Boise State on Nov. 23. Rozier scored UW's first eight points of the game and accounted for 10 of UW's 14 points in the first-half. She also grabbed four rebounds and swiped three steals.
Junior forward/center Laura McLellan recorded her team-leading 10th double-figure scoring game of the season with her 12-point performance today. All 12 of her points came in the second-half. McLellan was 6-of-11 from the field and grabbed four rebounds.
Junior guard/forward Sami Whitcomb's 17 points were one shy of matching her season-high of 18 set twice earlier this year. Whitcomb, who scored 13 of her 17 in the second-half, has nine double-figure scoring efforts on the season.
OSU guard Brittney Davis' 25 points is the second-highest individual performance against the Huskies this season. UConn's Tina Charles scored 29 on UW, Dec. 18. Davis' effort is the most points scored by a Pac-10 opponent this year.
OSU opened game with 20-6 run and its largest lead of the opening frame was a 23-point spread at halftime (37-14). The Beavers' largest lead of the game was a 26-point spread (44-18) at 16:21 in the second-half.
Washington outscored Oregon State 41-32 in the second-half, shooting 53.6 percent in the second stanza. McLellan scored all of her 12 points and Whitcomb had 13 of her 17 after halftime. In the first-half, the Huskies were held to just 14 points and a 28.6 percent field goal shooting percentage.
This game marked the third time in the last four outings that UW scored fewer than 16 points in the first half.
