Tonight's loss drops Washington to 13-6 all-time in Pac-10 openers, including a 7-3 record in Pac-10 openers at home. Arizona, meanwhile, improves to 10-9 in Pac-10 openers all-time.
Arizona's 67 points were its third-lowest of the year, and its fewest in any of its nine victories. The Wildcats entered the game ranked 17th in the nation offensively, averaging 76.1 points per game.
With the win, the Wildcats have now defeated Washington in six-straight games, dating back to Jan. 11, 2003, the date of the last UW victory in the series.
The Wildcats led by as many as 10 points on three different occasions, the last coming with 13:59 to play in the game. Washington, however, mounted a 21-11 run to tie the game at 51, but was unable to take the lead. For the game, the Huskies led just once the entire game, at 4-2.
Arizona dominated the paint early, scoring 22 of its 27 first-half points in the paint.
Arizona was 2 for its first 10 from the free-throw line, before hitting 10-of-13 free throws over the final 6:42 of the game.
Husky sophomore Maggie O'Hara matched her career-high with 10 rebounds.
Washington shot just 2-for-12 (.167) from three-point range in the first half, but hit six of 15 (.400) second-half three-point attempts.
Husky sophomore Cheri Craddock hit all three of her made three-pointers in the second half, including one with 10:08 to play that helped UW cut Arizona's lead, once as large as 10, to just one, at 45-44. Craddock finished the game with 14 points, equaling her career-high.
