Junior forward Emily Autrey
"We did not come out hard. We waited until the second half to play. We came out strong in the first 10 minutes of the second half. We lacked intensity. We picked it up, but it wasn't enough.
"We started executing better, running our offense and playing as a team in the second half. We didn't do that in the first half. That's why we had so many turnovers.
"They taught us we have to come to play every night. They came out strong and we came out soft.
Sophomore center Andrea Lalum
"We ran out of time. We just needed to work our offense better. We came out strong in the second half and called some different plays. We know what we need to do, we just need to do it the whole game.
"We've got a couple of big games coming up. We will be fired up and looking towards next weekend. This game taught us a lot. USF played great defense. They stepped up and gave us a run for our money. We weren't getting into our game. We were making bad passes. We have to rebound. That's the key. We have to establish authority inside the whole game. There was a presence there in the second half, we just needed to do that in the first half.
Head coach June Daugherty
"Credit San Francisco and Mary Hile for having her team ready and playing a super game. They kept scrapping. We didn't play up to our potential and credit San Francisco's defense and intensity. She had them believing. All those turnovers were a credit to their defense. We were not strong with the basketball. We were sloppy and they took advantage.
"We wanted to move the ball and find the seams in the second half. We were able to get some good looks. We have to do a better job of taking care of the basketball. We have to pay attention to detail and take responsibility. It was a three point game at the end and we were missing box-outs.
"We're trying to find answers on why we are starting slow in the first half. It 's something we can fix and it has to come from within.
(on playing West Coast Conference teams) "You know you are going to come into a hostile environment. The gyms are older and have a great environment. We want our team to come into an environment like this and know what to expect. They always have good fans and good basketball. We have to be able to handle that. We wanted our team to have that test. Obviously we didn't do well today, but we will get better."
