2024 Cross Country: An impressive sophomore fall season helping the Huskies win the West Regional title and return to the NCAA Championships โฆ was the No. 2 Husky scorer at NCAAs as the team finished 16th overall, as he placed 84th overall in 29:48 โฆ finished 14th at West Regionals, the No. 3 Husky, as UW won the title for the first time since 2015 โฆ earned All-Big Ten Second Team honors with a 16th-place finish at the conference meet, fourth on the squad, as UW took second โฆ was the first Husky across the line at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invite, placing 27th overall in 23:59 โฆ named to the Fall Academic All-Big Ten Team.
2024 Track: In his outdoor track debut, went to No. 4 in school history in the 10,000-meters, running 28:22.63 at the Stanford Invitational โฆ competed at his first NCAA West Prelims, placing 30th in the 10k in 29:58.83 in Fayetteville, Ark. โฆ at the Pac-12 Championships, placed 10th in the 10,000-meters and 16th in the 5,000-meters โฆ indoors, redshirted the season, competing multiple times unattached โฆ was eighth in the 3,000-meters at the UW Invitational, clocking 7:55.50 โฆ ran an indoor 5k PR of 13:51.69 at the Husky Classic, taking seventh โฆ top mile time of 4:06.17 at the UW Invite โฆ earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors.
2023 Cross Country: One of the top true freshmen in the Pac-12, scoring for the team at three of four races โฆ in his first collegiate race at the Virginia Invitational, was the No. 2 Husky in 34th-place overall in 23:50 โฆ was the third Husky across the line at the Wisconsin Invitational in 138th-place overall in 24:36 โฆ capped the team score at the Pac-12 Championships in 19th overall in a time of 23:29 as UW took second in the team battle.
High School and Personal: Born in Central Point, Oregon โฆ parents are Andrea and Raymond Gorze โฆ has three older siblings, Carson, Maccoy, and Jace โฆ one of the top distance recruits in the class of 2023 โฆ captured the 2022 U.S. U20 Championship at 5,000-meters โฆ raced at the 2022 World U20 Championships for Team USA, taking 12th in the 5k in Colombia โฆ broke the National High School Record in the indoor 5,000-meters, winning New Balance Nationals in March of 2023 in 13:56.82 โฆ also won DMR national titles at New Balance Indoors and Nike Outdoors in 2023 to give him four national titles โฆ won the 2023 Oregon 5A State title in 8:04.60 for 3,000-meters โฆ also won the 3k state title in 2022 and won the 1,500m state title in 2021 โฆ clocked a 5,000m PR of 13:45.81 at the 2023 On Running Track Fest, and then ran a 10,000m PR of 29:00.17 at the Portland Track Festival โฆ fourth in the 2-mile run at the 2023 Brooks PR Invite โฆ third at 2022 Nike Cross Nationals as a senior, after winning Nike Cross Northwest Regionals and winning a second-straight Oregon 5A state title โฆ broke the Oregon State XC Course Record as a senior in 14:37 โฆ as a junior, was sixth at the Eastbay National XC Championships โฆ two-time Gatorade Boys Cross Country Athlete of the Year for Oregon โฆ ran club with the Crater Distance Project and coach Justin Loftus โฆ was secretary of the Junior National Honors Society โฆ three time on the Principalโs List.
