2022 Pac-12 Pole Vault Runner-Up
2023: Hit new PRs in the pole vault indoors and out and advanced to NCAA West Prelims β¦ tied for eighth at the Pac-12 Championships to grab half a point, making 13-3 Β½ β¦ at West Prelims, clearing 13-0 ΒΌ to place 27th overall β¦ new outdoor PR of 13-5 ΒΌ at the Mt. SAC Relays β¦ indoors, made a career-best 13-5 ΒΎ at the UW Invitational to finish seventh β¦ cleared 12-11 at the Husky Classic and 12-11 Β½ at the Ken Shannon meet β¦ named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team and the Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll.
2022: Ended her season with a clutch runner-up finish at the Pac-12 Championships, as she finished behind teammate Makenna Barton for a 1-2 Husky finish in the pole vault β¦ in wet and windy Pac-12 conditions, she cleared 12-10 ΒΎ for second β¦ tied for first at the Raleigh Relays with a make of 12-9 Β½ β¦ won the UW-WSU Dual pole vault with a 12-5 Β½ make β¦ indoors, had a season-best clearance of 12-3 Β½ at the Husky Classic β¦ a Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll member.
2021: Competed at her first Pac-12 Championships in the pole vault β¦ started the outdoor season with a first-place finish at the Jim Bush Legends Invite, clearing 12-9 Β½ β¦ went 12-1 Β½ at the Pac-12 Championships to place 16th β¦ indoors, had a best of 12-2 Β½ at the UW Invitational, and also made 12-2 at the Husky Classic β¦ made the Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll.
2020 (Indoor Track; Outdoor Season Canceled): Strong freshman campaign indoors, with a big PR in the pole vault of 13-5 1/4 at the UW Invitational β¦ scored at her first conference meet, tying for sixth at the MPSF Championships with a make of 12-7 1/2 β¦ made 12-8 at the Don Kirby Invite in New Mexico β¦ fourth at the UW Last Chance Meet at 12-6 1/4 β¦ earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.
High School and Personal: Born in Bellevue, Washington β¦ parents are Chris and Kerste Helms β¦ has one older brother, Gabriel β¦ mother, Kerste Helms, was an All-American heptathlete at Principia College and holds the school record in the 300-meter hurdles and was inducted into its athletics Hall of Fame β¦ attended the International School but competed for Newport High School β¦ won the 2019 Washington 4A state title in the pole vault by clearing a career-best of 13-feet even which was the state meet record β¦ also won the Sea-King title clearing 12-6 and the Kingco title making 12-3 β¦ only began competing in track and field as a junior after competing for 14 years in club gymnastics through her sophomore year of high school β¦ only began to really focus on the pole vault as a senior, previously running hurdles and high and triple jumping as well β¦ earned a bronze medal for the Congressional Award, the United States Congressβ award for young Americans.
