Finding the right people
We are looking for the student/athlete with the ability and the attitude to lead the Huskies to its first volleyball national championship. The Will to be the First requires a special type of young woman. You will help create the tradition, the work ethic and the standards of excellence. The first championship is always the most special at the University of Washington. Our fans never forget the student/athletes who bring home the first National Championship. We are looking for someone like you.
Facilities and staff
Our Bank of America Arena is the most modern sports training facility in the PAC-10. You will practice and play in a building that is the envy the every university. BOA Arena is equipped with the latest strength/conditioning equipment and fully staffed with sports medicine coaches and trainers. In addition to the excellent athletic coaches and trainers, as a Husky you will have access to an academic support and advisors program geared to the needs of the student athlete.
Unique Training
Head coach Jim McLaughlin has already won a National Championship. He has been there and knows what it takes. Our coaching staff has studied the training methods used by the best programs in the world.
These "Best Practices" are incorporated into your daily routine. In order for our program to be the best we have to give you the opportunity to develop your skills to highest level. You will have the opportunity to improve and measure your improvement daily. For example:
The UW-sponsored volleyball camps and clinics use these same training methods, so the women athletes will have consistency in their training and development.
