Washington Inks Sharpshooter Transfer Parker Friedrichsen
April 21, 2026 | Men's Basketball
SEATTLE – Washington head men's basketball coach Danny Sprinkle has announced the Huskies' first addition from the transfer portal of the spring, signing rising senior guard Parker Friedrichsen.
Friedrichsen will bring three years of D1 experience to Montlake, starting 33-of-34 games at Davidson this past season after two seasons at Wake Forest.
"We're extremely excited to add a guard with a veteran presence like Parker," Sprinkle said. "He adds several years of experience at the highest level at both Wake Forest and Davidson and has been led by coaches with a winning pedigree both in college and high school. He has the kind of shooting ability that is necessary to compete in the Big Ten and his feel for the game will be tremendously valuable. Parker is a great player but also a high-level character and student, which made him somebody we targeted early on this window."
Friedrichsen averaged 10.8 points for the Wildcats in 2025-26, chipping in 2.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. Taking over half of his field goal attempts behind the arc, the Bixby, Oklahoma, native shot 40.5 percent from three-point range, ranking 12th in the Atlantic-10 with 68 three pointers for the season.
Friedrichsen drained at least three triples 15 times in 2025-26, including a career-best performance with 27 points against Loyola Chicago. Against the Ramblers, the 6-4 guard converted 8-of-11 field goals, including 6-of-8 from deep, and made all five of his free throw attempts.
The Bixby HS product racked up 21 points at A-10 power Dayton in February, knocking down 5-of-6 three pointers. In Davidson's season-ending loss to Oklahoma State in the NIT, Friedrichsen scored 16 points on 50 percent from the field, knocking in three threes while adding three steals.
Prior to Davidson, Friedrichsen appeared in 66 games at Wake Forest over two seasons. In his debut season for the Demon Deacons, Friedrichsen averaged 5.1 PPG off the bench, shooting 39.6 percent from the field and 36.5 percent from three.
In a highlight performance against NJIT, the then-freshman converted 6-of-7 shots, including 5-of-6 from behind the arc, finishing with 19 points in 26 minutes. Friedrichsen also dropped 10 points on 3-of-6 shooting in just 13 minutes at No. 9 Duke.
A four-star prospect by both ESPN and 247Sports, Friedrichsen was the No. 2 prospect in the state of Oklahoma coming out of high school, winning the TaxAct National High School Three-Point Contest during the 2023 Final Four in Houston. Friedrichsen scored over 2,000 points at Bixby High School, averaging a triple double at 30.1 points and 10.2 rebounds as a senior.
