March 08, 2026 | Baseball
The Huskies improve to 5-10 on the year and 2-1 in Big Ten play.
Colton Bower dominated on the Hoosiers, launching a home run in each of his first three at bats. He becomes just the second Husky in program history to record a three-home run game.
Bower added a two-RBI triple in his fifth at bat of the day to finish an incredible 4-5 at the plate with four extra base hits, three home runs, four runs scored, and six RBIs.
The Husky offense was on fire all game long, totaling a season-high 17 hits, including multi-hit games from Braeden Terry (2), Mic Paul (3), and Landon Young (3).
After a strong performance as a substitute on Saturday, Young earned his first career start and did not disappoint. The third baseman went 3-5 from the plate, including his first home run as a Husky while also scoring two runs and adding an RBI.
The relief pitchers slammed the door on Indiana as Hayden Lewis, Carson Boesel, and Bryce Johnson combined to pitch six scoreless innings to secure the win.
Lewis took over in the fourth and tossed 4.1 innings of three-hit ball with four strikeouts. He earned the win for his performance and improves to 2-2 on the season.
Boesel and Johnson allowed only one hit over the final 1.2 innings, with Johnson striking out two in the final frame. Boesel has been one of the most effective relievers for Washington with a 0.77 ERA in 11.2 innings pitched.
Washington will look to build on the series win on Tuesday as the Huskies host Seattle U at Husky Ballpark. Following the midweek matchup, the Dawgs will then host Ohio State for the second Big Ten series of the season.
