Washington Takes Down Seattle U 7-4 On Tuesday Night

SEATTLE – The Huskies earned their third victory in a row on Tuesday, taking down cross-town foe Seattle U 7-4 at Husky Ballpark. Washington moves to 6-10 on the season with the win.
The Diamond Dawgs used a balanced and consistent offense and strong pitching to secure the win, collecting 13 hits and 15 strikeouts.
Jackson Hotchkiss paced the bats with four hits in four at bats, including two RBIs and two runs scored.
Jaxson Gore made the start for the Huskies, going 2.1 innings with two hits and two runs allowed along with five punchouts.
Liam Lierman took over midway through the third and tossed three frames with two runs allowed and three strikeouts. The freshman earned his first career win as a result.
Peysen Sweeney, Jack Wade, and Tommy Brandenburg threw the final 3.2 innings, allowing only two hits and zero runs. Brandenburg earned his second save of the season in the win while Sweeney made his season debut.
Sam DeCarlo and Landon Young each had two hits in the game as all but one starter recorded at least one hit.
Washington will look to keep the momentum going over the weekend as the Huskies host Ohio State for a three-game series beginning on Friday evening.
