
LMU Ties Series With Win in Game Two, Rubber Match Set For Sunday

LOS ANGELES β Washington dropped game two to LMU on Saturday, 7-1. The Huskies will look to take the series on Sunday afternoon.

Despite the final score, the game was close for eight innings. Gunnar Nichols pitched well in his second start for the Huskies, throwing 4.0 innings while allowing just one run, coming from a solo home run in the first inning.

Nichols only allowed three hits, one run, two walks and six strikeouts in his four innings of work.

Carson Boesel took over on the mound in the fifth and threw 2.2 innings, allowing only two hits and one run. Like Nichols, Boesel surrendered a solo shot which extended the Lions' lead to two.

The Huskies got on the board in the eighth after three consecutive singles. Ethan Swidler drove in the run for the Huskies, cutting the lead to one.

In the bottom half of the frame, however, LMU plated five runs to run away with the result.
