Bryce Johnson took the mound for his second Washington start and pitched well, going three scoreless innings before allowing a pair of runs in the fourth and two more in the fifth. He finished his day with 4.2 innings pitched, six hits, four runs, two walks, and three strikeouts.

The Lions battled back, with two runs in the fourth, starting a back-and-forth affair through the remainder of the game.

Daniel Porras got the offense going again in the fifth inning, launching a two-run home run to put the Dawgs in front, 3-2. It was his second home run of the series.

The Lions responded again, plating two in the bottom of the fifth, making it a 4-3 LMU lead.

In the sixth inning, Washington used a pair of RBI singles to jump in front, one from Braeden Terry and Sam DeCarlo for a 5-4 Washington advantage.

The Lions were able to put three across in the sixth to take the lead 7-5, and they held the advantage throughout the rest of the game despite a run scored by Blake Wilson in the eighth to pull the Huskies within one.

Hayden Lewis, Jack Wade, and Carson Boesel pitched in relief on Sunday, with the most productive outing coming from Wade. The lefthander pitched 2.1 innings, allowing just one hit while fanning five batters.

Offensively, the Dawgs were led by Daniel Porras and Mic Paul who each tallied two hits in four at bats. Washington had eight hits in total, including a double for Blake Wilson and a double for Casen Taggart.

The Huskies return to action on Tuesday at Husky Ballpark for the home opener against Seattle U. Washington will then host San Diego State for a four-game set over the weekend.
