CHICAGO, Ill. — Washington women's basketball signee Amayah Garcia was named to the McDonald's All-American Game nominee list this week, the organization announced.
Garcia, a native of Fort Worth, Texas, is in her senior season at Faith Family Academy of Oak Cliff. The 5-foot-11 guard has been excellent at a number of events across the country this year, and was named the Most Valuable Player at the She Got Game Classic in Hawai'i. Garcia competes for Southwest Select on the Adidas 3SSB circuit.
She recently surpassed 1,000 career points and has knocked down over 125 3-pointers in her career.
A four-star recruit, Garcia ranks in the top 50 of all major recruiting services, including Prospects Nation (No. 37), On3 (No. 40), 247Sports (No. 43), and ESPN (No. 46).
Garcia was named to the Texas All-State Tournament Team and, over the summer, was selected as an Adidas All-American.
Garcia will join the Washington program for the 2026-27 season. This marks the 11th McDonald's All-American Game nominee to sign with Washington under head coach Tina Langley.
The final selections for the McDonald's All-American Game are still to be made. The 2026 McDonald's All-American game will take place on April 1, 2026, in Brooklyn, New York.
