UW Wins Both Races At Oregon State Dual
April 12, 2025 | Men's Rowing
VANCOUVER, Wash. – The Washington men's rowing team won both races Saturday morning in a dual regatta vs. Oregon State at Vancouver Lake.
The regatta featured just two races, with both teams entering multiple crews in an eights race, and one hour later, in fours, with nearly all of those rowers in the fours having already competed in the eights.
In the opening event, Washington had four eight-oared crews competing against four entries from Oregon State.
Washington's "A" crew, comprised almost entirely of rowers who had competed as the Huskies' third varsity eight the last two weeks, won the race with a time of 5:41.76, a little over three seconds ahead of the UW "B" crew, which was the freshman eight (5:45.01).
The Huskies' "C" crew was third, followed by all four Oregon State crews (in order, A through D), with the Washington "D" crew finishing in eighth.
In the fours race, three Husky crews faced four boats from OSU. Washington's top-two crews in that event finished first and second, ahead of the top-two Beavers' fours. Washington's C crew was fifth with two other Oregon State entries in sixth and seventh.
Washington will now have two weeks to prepare for The Dual vs. California, April 26 on Montlake Cut, where both the men's and women's teams will compete. For the men, that event will match the current No. 1-ranked Golden Bears vs. the No. 2 Huskies.
