Eight More Huskies Book Spots In A Finals At World Rowing Championships

A busy day of racing for many of the 28 Washington alumni competing at the 2026 World Rowing Championships resulted in eight more Huskies booking places in A finals, where medals will be determined in the coming days.

Thursday at the Bosbaan racecourse in Amsterdam, a long list of UW rowers competing in the men's and women's fours and quads earned the right to row for a medal Friday morning.

In the women's four, Teal Cohen '21 and her U.S. crew won its semifinal, while Angharad Broughton '23 and her Great Britain four finished third, advancing to Friday morning's medal round.

In the men's four, a U.S. crew that included Huskies Chris Carlson '19 and Pieter Quinton '21 won its semifinal while in the other semi, a Dutch four that included Gert-Jan van Doorn also won. Those three Huskies will race for medals Friday morning.

Husky alum Evan Park '25 and her U.S. quad sculls crew booked its place in the A final with a victory in the semifinal, while fellow American and UW alum Ben Davison '18 finished third in his men's quad semi, enough to earn a place in the A final.

While a handful of the Huskies in Amsterdam have completed their competitions, the majority still have one or two races yet to come.
