November 12, 2025 | Women's Basketball
SEATTLE — Washington women's basketball head coach Tina Langley and her staff welcomed another top recruit to Montlake, with the Huskies adding Amayah "Sunshine" Garcia to begin National Signing Day.
Amayah Garcia
Garcia, a 5-11 guard from Fort Worth, Texas (Faith Family Academy), is a four-star recruit and ranked No. 46 in the 2026 SportsCenter NEXT 100. She received a 94 scout grade from ESPN, and was a standout for Southwest Select on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit.
"We are incredibly excited to announce the commitment of Amayah Garcia and welcome the entire Garcia family to Washington," Langley said. "Throughout our time together, it has become evident that Amayah exemplifies the core values of our program. She is not only an outstanding basketball player—one of the most versatile guards in the country with a significant impact on both ends of the court—but she also leads with character and joy. Amayah's kindness, selflessness, and resilience are evident, qualities that clearly reflect her special family."
What They're Saying
"Sunshine is one of the best two-way players in the country — with qualities you rarely see anymore: loyalty and a commitment to doing winning things. She is an asset and huge building block to any program she is a part of."
